Melanie graduated from Liverpool. She worked as a lead NHS clinician in outpatients before establishing Woolton Physiotherapy in 1991. She has continued to expand her expertise gaining membership of The Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, Acupuncture Association (AACP),British Occupational Hygiene society and has a Diploma in injection therapy. She has completed the accredited MACP modules and taught at the University of Liverpool, spinal and lower limb assessment.
Melanie uses her specialist skills across a wide range of conditions and has an exciting and varied client base. Melanie manages the provision of Physiotherapy Services for 3 clinic sites, local industry, councils, sporting events and corporate businesses across the North West. She continues to provide discreet physiotherapy services for theatre and TV productions in the North West. Her main concern is to maintain her 3 Physiotherapy sites as clinics of excellence where all patients receive the highest standard of treatment with professionalism, care and respect. Her staff are supported with CPD and post graduation courses to ensure the team are skilled in all new developments and evidence based practice.
Saki is our highly skilled Physiotherapist, renowned for his infectious personality and dedication to his clients. Originally hailing from a picturesque village in Greece, Saki graduated with First Class Honours in Physiotherapy from Hanze University in 2017. His career has taken him across Europe, including time spent at the prestigious Benfica Academy, where he honed his expertise in sports physiotherapy.
Specializing in lower limb sports injuries, Saki has a passion for helping clients recover from running-related issues and is an expert in kinesiology taping. He achieved full certification as a Running Specialist after graduating from the prestigious Running School in London, bringing this advanced knowledge back to our clinic. Saki’s ability to help clients, both young and old, walk or run better than ever has earned him widespread admiration.
In addition to his specializations, Saki has recently completed qualifications in Acupuncture and Level 3 Neuro Kinetic Therapy (NKT), further enhancing the range of treatments he offers.
Outside of work, Saki enjoys socializing and spending quality time with friends. A passionate Liverpool Football Club supporter, he never misses an opportunity to cheer on his team. Whenever he can, Saki loves traveling back to Greece to visit his family and reconnect with his roots.
Milka is a dedicated and highly skilled physiotherapist who has been an integral part of our team at Woolton Physiotherapy Clinic since 2018. With a career spanning over two decades, Milka’s journey began in Bulgaria, where she qualified as a physiotherapist in 1998. Her early years were spent in a hospital setting, working across multiple departments including intensive care, respiratory care, paediatrics, neurology, orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal outpatients. This broad experience laid the foundation for her versatile and holistic approach to patient care.
After relocating to the UK in 2004, Milka continued her work in Neurology, further expanding her expertise. She went on to pursue advanced studies, completing a Master’s course in Pain Management and Neurology in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University in 2012. In 2016, Milka became a qualified Disability Assessor, further diversifying her skill set.
Milka’s true passion lies in women’s health, with a particular focus on menopause. She recently graduated from the University of Bradford with a Postgraduate Certificate in Women’s Health, equipping her to support women dealing with menopausal symptoms, incontinence, pelvic pain, and prenatal and postpartum musculoskeletal pain. Her extensive training in acupuncture, alongside post-graduate qualifications in treating conditions like period pain, migraines, hot flushes, and endometriosis, allows her to offer a holistic approach to women’s wellness.
Milka is especially excited to now offer the renowned Mummy MOT service, a specialized postnatal check-up, at our clinics. Her caring nature and in-depth knowledge make her a go-to expert for women’s health, and her genuine love for helping others shines through in every treatment she provides.
Outside of work, Milka enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, and playing volleyball. Her enthusiasm for her profession and dedication to her patients make her a truly invaluable member of our team, and we’re lucky to have her with us!
Joao attended the Red Cross Private University in Lisbon. He worked for Casa Pia Atletico Futebol Clube football teams in Lisbon and had internships in S.L. Benfica Seixal Campus, working with the club’s B squad, as well as working in a wide array of hospitals and private clinics, within different settings. He was working as a Senior Physiotherapist for Pall Mall Physio in the city centre of Liverpool prior to joining Woolton Physiotherapy.
Joao’s physio specialty is MSK with a particular interest in sports and lower limb injuries. He also has the ability to structure bespoke rehabilitation gym programs to support fitness and optimum recovery. Joao has completed his vestibular rehabilitation training and can aid you during your recovery. During his free time , he enjoys nagging the clerical staff at the clinic, walking/running, going to the gym and travelling. Oh, and food.
Nathan is a highly skilled and dedicated physiotherapist, bringing a wealth of experience to our Woolton Physiotherapy team. After graduating from Nottingham with a First-Class BSc Hons Physiotherapy Degree in 2016, Nathan gained invaluable clinical experience working in both NHS multidisciplinary settings and private sports injury clinics. Eager to further develop his skills, he moved to New Zealand, where he continued his professional growth in private practices around Auckland.
During his time in New Zealand, Nathan expanded his expertise by training as a Pilates instructor, gaining a dry needling qualification, and becoming a certified STEEL cancer therapist. These additional qualifications have allowed him to offer a more comprehensive, holistic approach to patient care. Returning to the UK, Nathan joined our team, bringing with him over six years of experience in the musculoskeletal (MSK) sector.
Nathan’s particular passion lies in lower back rehabilitation, especially for both acute and chronic pain cases. He specializes in a holistic, exercise-based approach to healthcare, focusing on long-term recovery and prevention. His ability to integrate a variety of techniques into tailored treatment plans ensures that his patients receive the highest standard of care.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his family now that he’s back home, maintaining his fitness in the gym, and exploring new places on his motorbike. His passion for both his profession and his personal interests makes him a dynamic and valued member of our team
I’m proud to be part of this dynamic team. Originally from Pakistan, I moved to the UK in 2022 to pursue my passion for physiotherapy, and I successfully completed my Master’s in Advanced Physiotherapy (MS) in 2023.
Since joining this clinic in February 2023, I have specialized in treating musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, focusing on helping individuals with joint and muscle issues. My approach to treatment is rooted in a deep understanding of the body’s mechanics, and I am committed to providing personalized care to address each patient’s unique needs.
To continuously enhance my expertise, I have completed an Acupuncture course in 2023 and an Integrated Manual Therapy course in 2024. I also believe in a holistic approach to healing, which led me to explore Reflexology through additional training. These diverse qualifications enable me to offer a comprehensive range of treatments, ensuring the best outcomes for my patients.
Beyond my clinical practice, I am passionate about lifelong learning. In my spare time, I explore emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and always seek new ways to expand my knowledge. I also cherish spending quality time with my family, which fuels my dedication to both personal and professional growth.

Jo graduated from Salford University. She is a senior paediatric physiotherapist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital working in orthopaedic trauma, burns and plastics. She has worked part-time at Woolton Physiotherapy for the past twenty years. She is renowned for her commitment to her patients and has regular patients who she has assisted with managing their conditions, treating them with her wide range of skills.
Jo is an experienced physiotherapy professional with thorough approach to assessment, treatment planning and patient education. Dedicated to improving quality of life and function. Specializes in working with Musculoskeletal patients both adult and pediatrics . Experience with neurological rehabilitation and
exercise therapy. Trustworthy with 28 years of practical experience and dedicated work ethic. Self-motivated to consistently provide first-class results in line with stringent targets and deadlines.

Stelian graduated from Al. I. Cuza, Romania, in 2012 with a BSc in Physiotherapy and has an MSc in Physiotherapy Sport’s Injuries. Stelian worked in a private hospital in Romania during his Master courses. He decided to come to UK to enhance his skills and gain further experience to make a positive difference. He has specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy with focus on Shoulder rehabilitation, lower back, and lower limbs. In the past 2 years, Stelian has qualified in Acupuncture, Mulligan concept: lower quadrant and specialised shoulder rehabilitation. He has successfully applied this in practice with great results. By enhancing his skills through these courses, he can now treat a varied case load and has exceptional ability to both motivate and provide individual treatment plans to aid a smooth recovery process. Stelian has been able to share this knowledge with his colleagues during our regular CPD training. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, he is a former Rugby player and enjoy Skiing all over the world.

He is fully qualified in acupuncture and loves incorporating this skill into his treatments.
When Matt isn’t working, he enjoys playing football, hitting the gym, socialising with friends, and supporting his beloved Everton Football Club. With his hands-on approach to physiotherapy, Matt is excited to help his clients recover fully and get back to doing what they love.

Rachel’s journey to becoming our Practice Manager is a testament to her dedication, expertise, and passion for excellence. She joined our team part-time in 2014 and was quickly promoted to Admin/Finance Manager in 2015. By 2018, Rachel had increased her hours and seamlessly transitioned into her current role, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all clinic sites daily.
Before joining us, Rachel spent 19 remarkable years at the University of Liverpool’s Cancer Research Centre. Starting as a receptionist, she worked her way up to the Data Manager—a role where her meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills were instrumental in supporting ground-breaking research. Along the way, she earned numerous qualifications, including BTEC’s in Administration and management and NVQs in Customer Service, Business Administration, and Team Leading. Rachel is currently studying for a social media and marketing qualification.
Rachel’s personality is infectious, and everyone who meets her feels at ease and happy to be around her. Her personality brings out the best in all the staff. Her commitment to our clinic and her ability to multitask with ease make her an invaluable part of our team. She is often seen sitting in the office and is available for all our patents, she welcomes everyone with her trademark cheery smile and ensuring they feel cared for. She also supports our staff with the same warmth and dedication.
Outside of work, Rachel loves spending time with her family and friends, she loves the outdoors and enjoys walks with her beloved dog, Dexter. Her blend of professionalism, kindness, and love for life shines through in everything she does.
Annie joined us in 2019 as a Business Administrative Apprentice, and her dedication quickly stood out. She completed her apprenticeship with distinction, impressing the entire management team with her commitment and enthusiasm. In 2020, we were delighted when Annie accepted a full-time position as Administrator, where she continues to excel and bring warmth to her role every day.
Outside of work, Annie enjoys spending time with her beloved cavapoos, Bobby and Bertie, whom she affectionately calls her babies. She loves socialising and traveling. When she’s not walking her furry babies or on Holiday, Annie will be found with her family watching reality TV.
