Melanie Patrick – Clinic Director, MCSP, MSOM, AACP, OCPPP
Melanie graduated from Liverpool 1983. She worked as a senior NHS clinician before establishing Woolton Physiotherapy in 1991. She has continued to expand her expertise gaining membership of The Society of Orthopaedic Medicine, Acupuncture Association (AACP) and has a diploma in injection therapy. She passed M203 Ergonomic essentials including Manual therapy and DSE in 2010 (British Occupational Hygiene Society). Melanie uses her specialist skills across a wide range of conditions and has a wide and varied client base. Melanie also manages the Physiotherapy Services for local councils.
Her main concern is to maintain Woolton Physiotherapy as a clinic of excellence where patients receive the best possible treatment with care and respect.
Christopher Burford – MCSP, AACP, HPC
Chris qualified from Bristol University in 1997 and worked in the NHS for 12 years before coming to work for us full-time since 2010. He specialises in musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy and acupuncture.
He attends regular courses to maintain his professional standards as well as in-house training.

Emile Di Marco – Sports Massage
Graduated in 2003 with a Sports science degree from University of Glamorgan, and qualified Teacher of PE. Currently full time lecturer in sport and programme leader for level 4 and 5 HNC sports programs:-Sports coaching and development and Sports exercise and rehabilitation.
When not massaging or teaching enjoys cycling, running and keeping fit and entering new events. Continually developing practice with CPD focusing on new methods within sports massage.
James Williams – MCSP, AACP, PGcert
James graduated from Keele University in 2001. He has worked within the NHS for five years. He has extensive experience, having gained expertise in the fields of Upper Limb, Lower Limb and Spinal conditions, working closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons. Since then he has specialised in sports injuries and musculoskeletal complaints working within private practice.
James has a post graduate certificate in Manual Therapy. James’s knowledge of sports injuries comes from his own keen interest in running, in which he races regularly from 5K to half marathon distances.
Joanne Ford – MCSP, AACP, OCPPP
Jo graduated in 1996 from Salford University. She is a senior paediatric physiotherapist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital working in orthopaedic trauma, burns and plastics. She has worked part-time at Woolton Physiotherapy for the past fourteen years.
She has a special interest in acupuncture and has attended many advanced acupuncture courses covering a wide range of conditions. Jo has a special interest in women’s health and is qualified to treat IVF related issues.
William Seaford – MCSP, AACP, PH
Bill has practical experience in a wide range of physiotherapy skills including Mulligan, Maitland and Cyriax techniques. He has experience across a broad spectrum of conditions including spinal, shoulder, lower limb and TMJ dysfunctions. He enjoys working with patients no matter how challenging and/or complex their conditions.
John Wilkinson – HPC
He has worked within the NHS full time at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospital NHS trust ever since. John has attended further courses and has a special interest in acupuncture, soft tissue knee Injury management and shoulder injury management.
Jackie Robertson – Senior Physiotherapist
Jackie qualified from Salford University in 2005 and worked in Aintree Hospital rotating around all the key areas of Physiotherapy until 2009. She has since worked in several private clinics and is now working full time in WPC.
Jackie works mainly with the musculoskeletal population, she is an ante and post-natal specialist, teaches clinical Pilates and has a special interest in women’s health.
Jackie regularly attends courses updating her knowledge and skills.
Sophie Badcock – Physiotherapist
Sophie graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2015 with a BSc in Physiotherapy. She has worked within a Community Team in the South Sefton area, and is currently now working for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital Trust, as well as working part time within the Woolton Clinic.
She has a special interest in acupuncture, soft-tissue knee injuries, back pain and Parkinson’s disease. She enjoys playing netball and going to the gym on a regular basis.
Clare Shaw – Physiotherapist
Clare graduated from Liverpool University in 2015. She currently work full time within the NHS at The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Trust. Prior to this she worked for 10 months in Liverpool community health trust as a community physiotherapist. She has completed a post-graduate acupuncture course and has a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Olivia Simmons – Physiotherapist
Olivia graduated from University of Liverpool in 2016. She works part-time at the clinic and under the Liverpool Royal and Broadgreen University hospital trust where I am currently a musculoskeletal physiotherapist but also have experience working on the hospital wards. I have a great interest in sport injuries and I have recently completed a training course in acupuncture.
My goal is to provide holistic, friendly and evidence-based treatment to my clients.
Chris Baldwin – Senior Physiotherapist
Chris graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2013 with a Bsc in Physiotherapy. He has worked in the private and NHS sectors since graduating and has a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and acupuncture.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys mountain biking, hot yoga and attending the gym. He is working towards his Pilates qualification.
Helen Power – Senior Physiotherapist
Helen graduated from University of Limerick with a Bsc in Sports & Exercise Science in 2012. She then attended Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh to get her MSc in Physiotherapy in 2014. Helen has worked in private practice since qualifying and has an interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and expertise in the upper limb. Helen will be completing her acupuncture course in June 2017.
During her free time, Helen enjoys Crossfit and regularly enters into competitions.
Imogen Pallister – Physiotherapist
Graduated from Liverpool University in 2015 and have worked within warrington hospital and now the royal, being involved in netball myself i have an interest in sport injuries and pathologies and also work within a premier league football academy and I have widened my treatment skills by undertaking qualifications in acupuncture and sports massage.
I also scuba dive in my spare time !
Emily Haynes – Physiotherapist.
Graduated from Liverpool University in 2014. Works full time for the Royal and Broadgreen NHS trust and has worked part time for Woolton since September 2016. Special interest in MSK and neurological physiotherapy.
A keen hockey player and enjoy sport related rehabilitation.
Luke Burke – Physiotherapist
Graduated from University of Liverpool in 2016 and currently works full time at Aintree University Hospital within Musculoskeletal field alongside part time at Woolton. I have a keen interest in lower limb injuries and has attended post graduate course in the rehabilitation of running injuries.
Prior to graduation, Luke worked for 5 years as a qualified fitness instructor.
Laura Clark – Dietician
Laura works as a full time Dietician and is originally from Scotland. She graduated in food and nutrition back in Scotland 2000. She went on to get a Diploma in Dietetics from the University of Edinburgh in 2003. She moved to Merseyside 14 years ago for her first post as a qualified Dietician. She has since worked in a variety of hospital and community settings. Laura is highly experienced in working with patients both adults and paediatrics with complex clinical diseases such as Diabetes, Inflammatory Bowel conditions, Weight Management, Oncology, Renal disease, Allergies, Metabolic conditions and much more. She has a professional interest and experience in Sports Dietetics and is committed to Continued Professional Development which aims to provide Dietary and Nutritional advice in accordance with current evidence based practice e.g. NICE guidelines and research. Laura also teaches Pilates and has a keen interest in exercise.
